KUALA LUMPUR, March 19 ― The DAP's central leadership will meet this Monday to decide whether it will continue to be part of Pakatan Rakyat, after the Kelantan State Assembly unanimously passed its controversial hudud bill this morning.

DAP veteran Lim Kit Siang said the meeting will be to review the party's position in the opposition coalition “in view of the Kelantan government's move against” PR's the common policy framework.

“I am disappointed... It is a question of being sincere, loyal and truthful to the common policy framework which has been the basis of our partnership in the past six or seven years,” he said when met at the Parliament lobby.

“I am disappointed,” he added.

The Kelantan State Assembly today unanimously passed amendments to the Kelantan Syariah Criminal Code Enactment II 1993, in the PAS-led state government's bid to realise its decades-old push for Islamic criminal law.

The amendments were tabled yesterday without any revisions despite calls by the PR presidential council for the state administration to “reconsider” its proposed amendments last week.

Both PKR and DAP are opposed to ally PAS’s bid to enforce hudud in Kelantan, which has instead found support from rival Umno.
