KUALA LUMPUR, March 18 — A 14-year-old boy was allegedly beaten to death by five youths after they found out that the boy had stolen car parts belonging to one of them.

A passer-by who found Muhammad Israf Firdaus Abdullah unconscious at a back lane of a residential area in Kampung Datuk Keramat, Jalan Keramat, alerted the police and called for an ambulance at 1.50am yesterday.

Kuala Lumpur CID chief SAC Zainuddin Ahmad said four youths, aged between 20 and 22, had been detained.

“When paramedics arrived at the scene, the boy had died from his injuries. There were multiple bruises on his face,” Zainuddin said.

He said initial post-mortem results revealed that the cause of death was blunt force trauma to the head.

“Police arrested four youths who were last seen with the victim in the area,” Zainuddin said.

“One of them admitted being involved in the case. Interrogation revealed that a scuffle broke out when one of the suspects saw the victim attempting to steal car parts.”

Zainuddin said the suspects had been remanded until next Thursday and police were looking for the fifth suspect.

In Shah Alam, the body of a foreign woman, believed to have died from serious head injuries, was found in a drain in Alam Impian, on Monday.

Shah Alam deputy police chief Supt Ruslan Abdullah said the body of the woman, believed to be in her 20s, was found in a drain in Jalan Hang Nadim 35/27 at about 4.30pm.

The woman’s head was bloodied and there were injuries on her back, ears and arms.

The post-mortem revealed that she had died of blunt force trauma to the head.

Police believe the woman was killed elsewhere about eight hours earlier.

“We are unable to ascertain her identity or nationality. The woman was in a white T-shirt, blue jeans with a green belt. She was wearing brown canvas shoes,” Ruslan said.

“Her height was about 160cm. She may have been in her 20s or 30s.

“We hope the victim’s family can claim her body and assist in the investigation,” he said.
