JOHOR BARU, March 14 ― The police have solved seven robbery and extortion cases with the arrests of three men, who were alleged to have impersonated as custom officers, in Taman Johor Jaya, here, last Tuesday.
“The police seized four customs work passes, three customs vests, two custom hats, one Johor Military Force identification card, two walkie-talkie and eight cartons of kretek (clove cigarette) from them,” he told in a press conference in Johor Police Contingent headquarters here.
The suspects are now being remanded to assist investigations.
Meanwhile, the police has solved a case involving theft ang pau money at a wedding ceremony with the arrest of a Peruvian at klia2, Sepang, Selangor, last Wednesday.
He said the 60-year-old man was believed to have stolen the money donated by guests which was placed in a box at the wedding ceremony which was held at a restaurant in Taman Sutera Utama, Skudai, on Feb 14.
“The man was arrested by the police at 10 pm at klia2 after receiving information from the public. The police are now continuing investigation to search for at least two other men who were also believed to be involved in the theft,” he said.
The man has been remanded and the case was being investigated under Section 380 of the Penal Code for theft, Mohd Mokhtar said. ― Bernama
