KUALA LUMPUR, March 10 — ABC reported today that an AirAsia X flight from Sydney to Kuala Lumpur has made an emergency landing at Melbourne Airport after the plane suffered a technical issue.
According to the report, the pilot decided to turn around flight XAX223 as a precautionary measure, a spokesman for Air Services Australia said.
The plane’s navigation system and map display were malfunctioning and the pilot is believed to have turned back to Melbourne as the weather was more favourable than Sydney, the report said.
