KOTA BARU, March 10 — Thirteen people were injured, after a trailer rammed the back of a bus in KM 81.5, Jalan Kota Baru-Gua Musang in Kuala Krai today.
Kuala Krai police chief Supt Ab Rahim Che Ghani said 11 of the victims were school students.
In the 7am incident, the bus driven by Abdul Halim Mohd Noor, 56, was believed to have stopped at the left shoulder of the road to pick up the school students when suddenly a trailer driven by Mohd Norddin (Rpt: Norddin) Md Nor, 43, lost control of the vehicle and crashed the back of the bus.
“The impact of the crash caused the two vehicles to overturn. Both drivers sustain minor injuries,” he told Bernama when contacted.
He said all of the students were from schools, namely Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan (SMK) Pahi, SMK Sultan Yahya Petra 1 and Sekolah Kebangsaan Peria.
The bus was heading to the schools while the trailer was from the same direction on its way to Kuala Krai town, Ab Rahim said. — Bernama
