ALOR STAR, March 5 — The police have detained a man in connection with the killing of a former policeman in Taman Anggerik here last night.

Kedah Criminal Investigation Department chief, ASP Mohd Nashir Ya said the 39-year-old suspect was picked up at about 7pm in Kampung Seberang Perak.

He said the suspect, who had three previous convictions for robbery, blackmail and retaining stolen goods had been remanded for a week.
