JAKARTA, March 4 — Victims of the AirAsia flight QZ8501 crash will be commemorated at a memorial built near the crash site, Vietnam News Agency (VNA) reported.

National Search and Rescue Agency (Basarnas) head Bambang Soelistyo said Tuesday the memorial will serve as a reminder of the importance of traffic safety.

On Monday, Basarnas announced it would cease search operations for the plane’s victims and wreckage.

Indonesia’s National Transportation Safety Commission (NTSC) said investigation into the crash is expected to be completed by October.

Flight QZ8501 was flying from Surabaya, East Java to Singapore when it crashed into the Java Sea on Dec 28 last year.

All 162 people on board including seven crew members were killed. — Bernama
