TNB substation explosion: Another worker dies from injuries

KUALA LUMPUR, March 1 — Another Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB) worker who was critically injured in an electrical substation explosion in Taman Tan Yew Lai here on Monday, died last night.

TNB Corporate Affairs and Communications senior general-manager , Datuk Mohd Aminuddin Mohd Amin said Norizan Abdullah, 59, died at the Prince Court Medical Centre at 10.52 pm.

“The funeral prayers were held at the surau at TNB Headquarters in Jalan Bangsar this morning before the body was taken to Rembau, Negri Sembilan for burial,” he said in a statement.

Norizan leaves behind two wives and 10 children, aged between 10 and 32 years.

He was one of three TNB officers injured while conducting switch exchange work.

On Wednesday, another victim, Mohd Ruzairi Razali, 34, died at the University Malaya Medical Centre here, due to complications from injuries.

However, Mohd Aminuddin  said the third victim, Mohd Zaidi Mohd Shariff, 35, remains stable and is receiving treatment at the same medical centre.

“TNB will continue to assist the families of all the three victims,” he said.  — Bernama
