GUA MUSANG, March 1 — The wife of a Police Volunteer Reserve (PVR) from the Gua Musang police headquarters was believed to have been fatally slashed by robbers at her house in Kampung Batu Papan here this morning.
Yashmin Fauzi, 26, who was found in a pool of blood in front of her house by her husband, Mohd Azrul Isahak, 30, at 2.40am was believed to have put up a fight with the assailants.
Mohd Azrul who had started his duty at 1am at the station, had an uneasy feeling about the safety of his wife, and decided to come home to check out her condition but was shocked to find her body.
Gua Musang police chief Supt Saiful Bahri Abdullah said the victim was asleep at home when a number of robbers allegedly broke into the house and during the commotion, the assailants are believed to have slashed her.
Police believe the assailants had carried the victim and dumped her in the drive-way of the house.
Mohd Azrul immediately rushed his wife to the Gua Musang Hospital but she succumbed to her injuries at 6.40am.
“We are still investigating the motive. When the husband returned home, the wife was still alive and able to briefly relate the incident to him,” he said. — Bernama
