Umno veteran, Ahmad Nordin Mohd Amin dies at 80

MELAKA, Feb 28 — Umno veteran Tan Sri Ahmad Nordin Mohd Amin died of old age at the Putra Melaka Specialist Hospital at 2.20 pm, here today.

His brother, Datuk Ahmad Zaini Mohd Amin, 59, said Ahmad Nordin’s remains were now in Seri Tanjung, Batang Tiga, here.

“Ahmad Nordin will be laid to rest at the Tanjung Kling Muslim Cemetery at about 6.30 pm today,” he told Bernama when contacted, today.

Ahmad Nordin, 80, is survived by Puan Seri Halijah Aji, 68, and seven daughters and a son. Ahmad Nordin had held several key positions including as Deputy President of the Malaysian Council of Former Elected Representatives (MUBARAK), Melaka Umno Liaison Committee Deputy Chairman, Sungai Udang Assemblyman and the Melaka Syariah Appeal Court Judge. — Bernama
