Aid and people’s wellbeing transcend all political differences, says PM

KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 27 — Datuk Seri Najib Razak today said all state governments would receive appropriate aid and assistance from the federal government regardless of political differences.

Citing the cooperation between the federal and the Kelantan government in ensuring the people’s wellbeing, the prime minister said it was an example of a noble effort and should continue to be implemented.

In his personal blog entry, about his recent meeting with Kelantan Mentri Besar Datuk Ahmad Yaakob, Najib said the federal government had always given attention to the wellbeing of people in Kelantan.

“Last Monday, I convened an official meeting with Kelantan Mentri Besar Datuk Ahmad Yaakob in Putrajaya, in which we discussed several matters concerning the wellbeing of the people in Kelantan, which had always received the attention of the federal government.

“I feel that the cooperation between the federal government and the Kelantan state government under the leadership of Datuk Ahmad Yaakob is a noble effort.

“This cooperation should be enhanced for the wellbeing of the people in Kelantan and towards empowering the Muslim community,” he said.

The meeting between Najib and Ahmad in Putrajaya last Monday was to discuss two main issues concerning the wellbeing of the people of Kelantan, namely the final preparation for water asset migration and the construction and upgrading of the 417-km Central Spine Road from Kota Baharu to Simpang Pelangai on the common border with Pahang.

After the meeting, the prime minister also uploaded into his Facebook page two pictures of him and Ahmad shaking hands and of both of them during the discussion. — Bernama
