Malacca fisherman finds explosives in the sea

MALACCA, Feb 20 — A fisherman causes a stir in Kampung Pantai Kundur, Tanjung Kling here, when he brought home two bombs, believed to be mortar bombs, which he found in the sea.

Following which, a bomb disposal unit was sent to the scene, which later found the bombs, believed to have been used during training by the security forces, to be inactive.

“The bombs are of no danger to the public and will be taken by the police for use for display at exhibitions and for learning reference,” said a police spokesman.

Melaka Tengah police chief ACP Shaikh Abdul Adzis Shaikh Abdullah, when contacted, confirmed the discovery of the bombs. — Bernama
