KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 16 — Selangor PAS warned today its two Pakatan Rakyat (PR) allies, PKR and DAP, not to get involved in any event with the Islamist party’s pressure group, PasMa.
Selangor PAS commissioner Datuk Iskandar A Samad said it is best that leaders from both Selangor PKR and Selangor DAP avoid PasMa to maintain a good working relationship within their three-party pact.
“It may be an individual right for anyone to be involved in the organisation, but please let PAS resolve the PasMa issue internally,” he said in a statement.
PasMa stands for Persatuan Ummah Sejahtera Malaysia and consists of PAS members who want its leadership to focus on better ties with its PR partners and not accept overtures from their political foes.
Iskandar reminded PR leaders that the mutual cooperation between the allies in Selangor is more important for the benefit of the state.
He said there must be cooperation within Selangor from the mentri besar down to the state executive councillors, assemblymen and local councillors in order for the state administration to be effective in its duty.
