PETALING JAYA, Jan 28 — The Petaling Jaya City Council (MBPJ) will be conducting a public survey to gauge feedback over the one-way loop (OWL) traffic system, following claims by critics that the plan was poorly conceived and executed.

MBPJ councillor Lee Suet Sen said the Merdeka Centre will be commissioned to do the survey, which will begin before the Chinese New Year.

"There have been no formal complaints against the system. A survey can identify what users think and what they want," Lee told a news conference here.

He said that RM2 million had been spent on the OWL so far, and that an additional RM23 million would be used for next phase of the traffic plan.

"It is already part of the Selangor budget," Lee said.

Since its introduction back in October last year, road users have complained that it now takes them longer to reach their destination and that it had caused widespread confusion over the lack of signage.

Since then MBPJ has added more safety features and signages along the OWL.
