Cops detain 90s singer, companion for suspected heroin possession

KUALA LUMPUR, Jan 21 ― A singer of 90s fame and a female companion are believed to have been arrested at a house here by police early today for allegedly being in possession of heroin.

A team from the Ampang Police Narcotics Criminal Investigation Division conducted a raid on the house at 12.30am and found what is believed to be 1.2 grammes of the drug.

It is learnt that a urine test on the singer showed up positive for morphine and that on the companion indicated amphetamine.

Ampang Jaya District Police chief ACP Khairuldin Saat confirmed the arrest and said the case was being investigated under the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952.

“We will obtain a remand order against them at the Ampang Magistrate's Court today,” he told Bernama. ― Bernama
