KUALA LUMPUR, Jan 8 ― The Royal Malaysia Police (RMP) has beefed up security nationwide, including in the east coast of Sabah, as Malaysia will be hosting the 26th Asean Summit this year.
“GOF personnel will be stationed there until year-end and they will be rotated in two-month shifts.
“Besides the GOF, RMP will also station its personnel and officers in strategic locations to maintain the safety of Asean delegates, including in states where ministerial meetings will be held,” he told Bernama here today.
As a curtain raiser, the Asean Foreign Ministers' Retreat will be held in Kota Kinabalu at the end of this month.
