IPOH, Jan 1 ― A local man was injured after being shot at in an incident near a supermarket in Sungai Siput, near here, last night.

State CID chief Datuk Mohd Dzuraidi Ibrahim said the victim was riding a motorcycle when two men on a Honda EX5 motorcycle came near and shot at him thrice at 9.50pm.

“The 26-year-old victim was injured on the right arm and back,” he told reporters here, today.

Dzuraidi said police were seeking to trace the suspect while the motive for the incident was still being investigated.

He said the victim was sent to the Raja Permaisuri Bainun Hospital for treatment and the case was being investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code. ― Bernama
