KUALA TERENGGANU, Dec 15 — The flood situation in Terengganu has worsened late this evening with five of seven districts have now been hit by floods following incessant rain since yesterday.

According to the Terengganu National Security Council’s (MKN) portal, the number of flood evacuees has increased to 480 people, from 134 people this afternoon.

A total of 14 relief centres are now opened in five districts, namely Besut (1), Setiu (5), Hulu Terengganu (2), Kuala Terengganu (1) and Kemaman (5).

Marang and Dungun are still not affected by the floods.

As at 9pm tonight, Setiu and Kemaman districts recorded the highest number of flood victims, with 211 and 195 people, respectively, followed by Hulu Terengganu (46), Kuala Terengganu (18) and Besut (10). — Bernama
