Authorities reveal identity of second Malaysian IS suicide bomber in Syria (VIDEO)

KUALA LUMPUR, Dec 9 — Authorities yesterday released the identity of a second Malaysian suicide bomber to die while fighting with the Islamic State (IS) in Syria.

Malaysian officials said Ahmad Affendi Abdull Manaff, 27, from Tumpat in Kelantan travelled to Syria on April 23 to join the Islamic State.

On November 8 or 9 he is reported to have driven an explosives-laden truck into a military site in the city of Homs, an attack that is said to have killed around 50 members of the Syrian armed forces loyal to President Bashar Al-Assad.

Authorities said that so far six Malaysian nationals have died while fighting with the Islamic State in Syria and Iraq. — Reuters
