Ex-cop detained for stealing case exhibits

KUANTAN, Oct 1 ― A former police officer and four men were arrested last night for stealing case exhibits placed outside the store of Bera district police headquarters (IPD).

Pahang CID chief Datuk Zakaria Ahmad said all five suspects aged between 24 and 59 years, were arrested at 8.30 pm while loading the case exhibits meant for disposal onto an Isuzu lorry.

“The suspects were loading the case exhibits without consent of any party. Police stopped the lorry in front of Bera IPD gate and arrested the five suspects,” he told Bernama today.

Police also recovered the case exhibits comprising of 63 computer monitors, 310 CPU and a Toyota Camry believed used by the suspects.

The five suspects were detained at Bera IPD for further investigation and prosecution. ― Bernama
