PM congratulates Malaysian universities in Top 400 list of QS University Rankings

KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 17 ― Datuk Seri Najib Razak today congratulated the five Malaysian universities which gained ground in this year's QS World University Rankings.

The prime minister posted on Twitter: “Well done to our five universities in the Top 400 universities in the QS University Rankings with improved positions. Keep it up and we can achieve better.”

Universiti Malaya rose to 151st place from 167 last year, Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia to 259 from 269, and Universiti Teknologi Malaysia, to 294 from 355.

Universiti Sains Malaysia's position also rose, to 309 from 355, Universiti Pertanian Malaysia to 376 from the 411-420 category, while the International Islamic University of Malaysia (IIUM) remained in the same slot (501-550) as last year's.

Universiti Teknologi Mara (UiTM) also improved its ranking, moving to the 651-700th category from the previous 701+.

These findings mean that Malaysia now has a total of five universities in the Top 400 universities ranked in the report. ― Bernama
