KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 17 — Three baby dumping cases have been reported over the span of less than a week in three locations.

In the latest incident, the body of a boy believed to be just a few weeks old was found in Taman Wilayah, Sentul, on Monday.

Sentul police chief ACP R. Munusamy said several workers cutting grass by the road shoulder made the grisly find at about 10.30am.

“The body was decomposed and initial forensic investigations suggested it could be two weeks old,” he said.

Munusamy said the child, whose umbilical cord was still intact, was clad in full pink clothing.

He said police were waiting for the post-mortem report.

On the same day, in Tanjung Merit, Mersing, Johor, another body of a baby boy with his umbilical cord still attached was found at 9.30am.

A spokesman for Mersing police said the body was discovered by an orang asli  scavenging through a rubbish site at a landfill.

The body was wrapped with newspaper in a plastic bag.

Police believe it was dumped at the site recently.

The two case come six days after the body of a newborn girl was found by residents at an apartment in Rawang.

Gombak police chief ACP Ali Ahmad said the body was stuffed inside a bag and left at the apartment’s mailboxes area.

No arrests have been made in connection with the cases.
