MARAN, Sept 6 — A military personnel incurred losses of over RM30,000 after his house at Kampung Kandis Seberang, Chenor near here was broken into by four masked men armed with machetes early today.
Maran district police chief DSP Sulaiman A Hamid said in the 4 am incident the victim and his four family members, including a five-day-old infant, were sleeping before being surprised by the suspects.
“The suspects brandish their machetes towards the victim before forcing him to hand over valuable items.
“The suspects also tied up the military personnel, 28, together with his wife, 29, and sister-in-law, 26, but his two-year-old daughter and infant son were unharmed,” he told Bernama here today.
He said the suspects later searched the house and fled with jewellery worth RM30,000, two handphones and cash amounting to RM350.
All four suspects, who are believed to foreigners, had entered the house by cutting the kitchen door grille.
He said the case is investigated under Section 395 and 397 of the Penal Code. — Bernama
