KOTA BAHARU, Sept 3 ― Drug cases in Kelantan showed a drastic increase with 351 reported from January until August this year.

Kelantan Police Chief Datuk Mazlan Lazim said during the same period last year, 255 cases were reported in the state with 399 arrests. 

“From January until August this year, 521 drug arrests were made.

“This means there are many who are distributing drugs on a large scale in the state. There is a lot of enforcement, but they are still there,” he told reporters here today.

Mazlan said the demand for drugs especially methamphetamine was very high in the state.

“Some are sold for between RM25 to RM30 each, the demand is high but the situation is still under control because we are constantly conducting operations,” he said. ― Bernama
