GEORGE TOWN, Aug 29 — Two standard three girls were allegedly abducted in front of their school in Batu Lanchang here yesterday.

A police spokesman said the victims claimed their mouths were stuffed with clothes by two men before being dragged into a white van at about 1.45pm.

“However, when the van stopped at a bank in Jalan Masjid Negeri, the victims bit the hand of a suspect and escaped,” he said when contacted here today.

While running away, the victims stumbled upon a schoolmate’s mother who took them back to school.

He said the mother of one of the victims, who is also a teacher in the school, lodged a police report for the safety of other students.

Meanwhile Penang Northeast district police deputy chief Supt Abdul Rahman Ahmad when contacted confirmed receiving the report yesterday evening.

He said initial investigations revealed there were no witnesses in the incident. — Bernama
