KUANTAN, Aug 28 — A cache of explosives and explosive devices were found hidden in four boxes at the Bukit Kolam Air pump house, near here on Tuesday believed to have been long abandoned and in an inactive state.

Last Tuesday, a Pahang Water Management staff found the explosives consisting of 600 sticks of dynamite, detonators and several roles of wire.

Raub deputy police chief DSP Ab Rahim Ab Razak said investigations were carried out by the Bomb Disposal Unit in Pahang Police Headquarters and Armaments Branch (Amra) from Raub Police Headquarters (IPD).

“Inspection found the explosives left in the store had been long abandoned and were no longer active due to exposure to environmental factors,” he said when contacted here today.

The explosives were being stored temporarily in IPD Raub before being destroyed, meanwhile, further investigations are ongoing. — Bernama
