NILAI, Aug 24 — The ashes of the remains of Malaysia Airlines (MAS) Flight MH17 crew Lee Hui Pin, 42, arrived at the Xiao En Memorial park here at 11 am for burial today.

About 200 people, including family members and friends, accompanied the urn bearing Lee’s ashes.

They included Lee’s husband, Wong Kin Wah, and their three children, Wong Rui Qi, 13, Wong Hong Kai, 10, and  Wong Shenkai, 2, who arrived in a van from their residence in Subang Jaya, Selangor.

A religious ceremony was conducted before the ashes were taken to the burial ground.

Lee’s remains was among the first batch of 20 MH17 victims whose remains were repatriated from Amsterdam and arrived in Malaysia last Friday.

Flight MH17 crashed in eastern Ukraine on July 17 as it was flying from Amsterdam to Kuala Lumpur with 283 passengers and 15 crew on board.

The Boeing 777-200 aircraft is believed to have been shot down over the troubled country. — Bernama
