KEPALA BATAS, July 23 — Police arrested a man who had a pistol with bullet in it that was hidden in his sling bag in Jalan Ara Kuda, Tasek Gelugor near here yesterday.

A police spokesman said the 29-year-old man was stopped by police at 4pm after he was found to be riding his motorcycle in a suspicious manner.

“On checking, police found the gun in the sling bag. Background checks found he had previous records for committing robberies,” he told Bernama.

He added that the motorcycle had false license plates and that the suspect also tested positive for drugs.

Penang CID deputy chief ACP Nasir Salleh confirmed the arrest and said follow-up investigations were underway. — Bernama
