JOHOR BARU, July 13 — Police have released two of the seven men held over the murder of a part-time Estonian model in Mersing early this month.
Johor CID chief, Datuk Hasnan Hassan said both men were released on Tuesday after having their statements recorded.
“The remaining five men aged between 25 and 35 years are still being remanded and police are looking at all angles in the investigation,” he said in a statement today.
Hasnan said police were also waiting for a full post-mortem report and a DNA test of the victim before referring the case to the Deputy Public Prosecutor’s office.
He advised the people not to speculate on the case and to come forward to assist the investigation with relevant information by contacting the Johor police operations room at 07-2212999.
Regina Soosalu, 30, arrived in Pulau Rawa, near Mersing, on July 1 before her body was found at sea on the same day. — Bernama
