Sinkholes repair at Jalan Imbi almost completed

KUALA LUMPUR, July 4 ― Works to repair the collapsed tunnel at Jalan Imbi-Pudu junction here is almost completed.

Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) Project Implementation and Maintenance deputy director-general Datuk Mohd Najib Mohd said DBKL would be focusing on works to repair and strengthen the monorail pillars after this.

He was updating the follow-up action on the occurrence of two sinkholes at a tunnel in the intersection on Wednesday.  

Monorail service between Imbi and Hang Tuah stations has also been suspended until further notice.

Meanwhile the Malaysian Board of Engineers (BEM) in a statement today said BEM was prepared to assist the government in any task force formed to investigate the tunnel collapse. ― Bernama
