Myanmar national killed, countryman seriously hurt in quarrel

BUKIT MERTAJAM, June 14 ― A Myanmar national was killed and another seriously hurt in a quarrel at a construction site here very early this morning.

Central Seberang Perai District deputy police chief Supt Baharom Abu said police received a telephone call about a fight between two groups of 20 Myanmar nationals in Taman Akasia at Mengkuang Titi, Ara Kuda at 12.40am.

“All those who were involved in the fight had fled after realising our presence when we raided the place this morning at 8am.

“We found the body of a man in a drain with several stab wounds and another seriously injured. Both are believed to be Myanmar nationals. No identification documents were found on them,” he said when contacted here, today.

He said the body was sent to the Seberang Jaya Hospital for a post-mortem while the injured man was sent to the same hospital for treatment and was reported to be stable. ― Bernama
