KUALA LUMPUR, May 31 — A 76-year-old man fell to his death from the 24th floor of a condominium block in Jalan Ipoh today, with one of his legs having snapped off and found on a third floor car park.
Sentul Police deputy chief Supt Othman Abu Bakar said the man’s body was found on the ground floor in the incident that happened at about 10.30am.
“Preliminary investigations revealed that the man was mentally disturbed,” he said in a statement.
Meanwhile, the man’s wife, who declined to be identified, said the family realised he was missing at 10.15am and their son, who went looking for him, found him at the foot of the building.
The body was taken to the Selayang Hospital.
In another incident, a seven-year-old girl died after falling from the third floor of a shopping mall here.
Brickfields Police chief ACP Muhammad Azlee Abdullah said Nurul Emielda Nadia Sallehuddin died on the spot due to severe injuries to the head.
He said the girl’s father said she was with him but within a flicker of an eyelid when his attention was diverted she had fallen to the ground floor.
Her body was sent to the Universiti Malaya Medical Centre. — Bernama
