TELUK INTAN, May 31 — The Elections Commission (EC) says it had not received report of an Umno MP who allegedly entered a polling station today in Barisan Nasional (BN) garb and without an official pass.

EC chairman Tan Sri Abdul Aziz Mohd Yusof said he was unaware of the incident, but stressed it would be an electoral offence if proven true.

“I didn’t get any information,” Abdul Aziz told reporters at the tallying centre here.

Abdul Aziz also refused to comment after being showed a photo of Umno’s Pasir Salak MP Datuk Tajuddin Abdul Rahman’s alleged offence that has been circulating online.

DAP’s Dyana Sofya Mohd Daud today alleged that Tajuddin was seen walking at a voting centre here in a BN shirt, in violation of election rules prohibiting campaigning at polling stations.

The 26-year-old Teluk Intan hopeful said she and other DAP members, including Pasir Bedamar assemblyman Terence Naidu, witnessed the incident this afternoon at the SK Kg Bahagia polling station today.

Party symbols and material are not allowed within a 50m buffer zone around polling centres on election day.
