KOTA BARU, May 28 ― The girl who was gang-raped by more than 30 men on May 20 in Keterah may have been sodomised.
According to District OCPD Asst Comm of Police Azham Othman, police would be analising the medical report for further investigation on the matter.
ACP Azham also added, “We also cannot exclude the possibility that the teenager was also sodomised. And police have reasons to believe that almost all the suspects were high on drugs when they allegedly committed the crime.”
Daily news portal The Star reported that four people including a 17-year-old girl had been remanded for seven days in connection with the case.
Eight more people were in custody and the police are expected to make more arrests over the next few days, the paper added.
"We have set-up a special police task force to solve this case and I am confident that those responsible will be brought to justice," says ACP Azham.
On May 20, a Form Three student was reportedly gang-raped by more than 30 men in a vacant house in Ketereh.
The Star reported that the girl had gone to the house after her friend, 17, had asked her for a favour to pick her up in Keterah.
However, things took a wrong turn for the worse when the victim and a male companion arrived in Keterah. She was brought to an old, vacant house, where 30 men took turns to rape her.
The girl suffered bleeding and intense pain on her private parts.
