JOHOR BARU, May 26 — The Police Special Tactics and Intelligence Narcotics Group (Sting) smashed a drug trafficking syndicate and seized 16kg of heroin in this city late last night.
A report in the Royal Malaysia Police Facebook page said the police also arrested 25 suspects.
Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Khalid Abu Bakar, who confirmed this on his official Twitter account, extended congratulations on the police success.
It is learnt that the operation began at 7.30pm and ended at midnight, with raids conducted at several locations in the city.
Narcotics Criminal Investigation Department director Datuk Noor Rashid Ibrahim is scheduled to hold a press conference on the matter at the Johor Police headquarters at 3pm tomorrow. — Bernama
