GEORGE TOWN, May 24 — Parti Cinta Malaysia vice-president Datuk Huan Cheng Guan is well aware of his chances tomorrow, admitting he would not win the Bukit Gelugor parliamentary seat.

But he is sad that certain parties had resorted to defacing three of his campaign billboards with red paint.

Two of the billboards were near Jalan Tengku Kudin roundabout while the other was located near the PCM operations centre at Jalan Air Itam.

“I do not know why these people must do such things to me,” said Huan.

“I felt so sad and down when my campaign workers showed me photos of the billboards.

“I can send the billboards to them if they want it so much,” he said.

Huan said there was no need for those involved to resort to such acts.

“PCM is just a small political party. I know I will lose the by-election but please do not throw paint on my face (on the billboard).

“I have not done anything wrong,” he said, stressing he merely wanted to help the constituents.

Huan said this was the first time his campaign banners and billboards were splashed with paint.

“I have contested during my Gerakan days and in Batu Kawan but nothing of this sort has happened to me then. What they have done is really disgusting,” he said.

Huan said he was unsure who vandalised the billboards.

“I do not know who did it but I just want to plead to them to leave me alone so that I can continue with my campaign as there is only one more day left,” he said.

Huan, however, said he would not lodge any police report on the incident as he wanted to use the time to meet his supporters.

Huan is contesting against DAP's Ramkarpal Singh Deo and independent candidates Abu Backer Sidek Mohamad Zan and Mohamed Nabi Bux Mohamed Abd Sathar.

The by-election was called following the death of Ramkarpal's father Karpal Singh in an accident last month.
