TANAH MERAH, May 23 — A rubber tapper was found dead with a stab wound in his house in Kampung Kuala Paku, Gual Ipoh here.

Tanah Merah district police chief, DSP Abdul Aziz Mahmud said in the incident at 5pm yesterday, the victim, Thana Izzudin Mohd Shukri, 22, was found by his younger brother, Kamalrul Haffiz Mohd Shukri, 16, lying face down on the ground beside their house.

“The victim’s brother then inspected his body and found a stab wound on his spinal cord,” he told reporters, here today.

“At that time, the victim was said to be in a critical state and could not speak, later he died at the scene of the incident,” he said.

Abdul Aziz said the suspect was believed to have stabbed the victim from the back using a sharp weapon.

He said the deceased was then taken to the Tanah Merah Hospital for a post mortem.

He added that following investigation, police detained three men who were suspected to be involved in the incident. — Bernama
