Police: Man found murdered in Pantai Bersih

BUTTERWORTH, May 18 — Passers-by stumbled upon the body of a murder victim behind a seafood restaurant along the Pantai Bersih beach here at 11am this morning. 

Penang CID chief SAC Mazlan Kesah said the male victim, identified as B.

Muniandy, 37, had bruises and injuries on his chest, ribs, forehead and fingers.

“Based on rigor mortis, we believe he died about six hours ago,” he told reporters at the scene, adding that the single man had lived with his family in the nearby Pantai Bersih Flats.

“He was unemployed and had a prior drug related criminal record. We also found a wooden plank, believed to be the murder weapon,” he said.  

He urged anyone with information on the case to contact the nearest police station. — Bernama
