KUALA LUMPUR, April 28 — Syarikat Bekalan Air Selangor Sdn Bhd (Syabas) said the wet spell has raised the water level in the main rivers and allowed the six treatment plants to increase the production of treated water.

Assistant general manager of Corporate Communications and Public Affairs, Priscilla Alfred said because of this, Syabas could supply water to areas affected by rationing.

“However, this situation is only temporary,” she said in a statement here today.

The six areas that receive additional water supply are Gombak, Klang, Kuala Lumpur, Petaling, Hulu Selangor and Kuala Selangor.

Alfred reminded consumers to use water wisely and be prepared to face scheduled water rationing.

First, third and fourth stage water rationing continue until April 30 or a date to be decided by the Selangor government and the National Water Services Commission (SPAN).

The public can check the water rationing plan by visiting the Syabas website at www.syabas.com.my. — Bernama
