KUALA LUMPUR, April 7 — Police will try to complete investigations to charge the Facebook account owner who allegedly disseminated a picture of a corpse superimposed with the face of the Prime Minister’s wife, Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor.
Kuala Lumpur police chief Datuk Seri Mohmad Salleh said the 25-year-old suspect was remanded for three days since yesterday.
“Tomorrow is the last day, we will see if we need to remand him further or charge him straight away. We are working with the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission on the various confiscated items.
“Investigation is still in progress now, we will see what happens tomorrow. We will try to furnish the investigation paper tomorrow so that we could charge him the next day,” he said.
He was speaking to reporters after launching an exercise to recruit Chinese police constables here today.
The case was investigated under Section 233 of the Communications and Multimedia Act 1998 and Section 505 of the Penal Code for causing public mischief. — Bernama
