KUALA LUMPUR, April 3 — Legal action could be taken against 15 to 20 per cent of individuals and companies which are not paying their taxes, Inland Revenue Board (LHDN) said.
Local Malay daily, Berita Harian, reported today LHDN’s Director-General Tan Sri Dr Mohd Shukor Mahfar as saying that the tax authority has identified individuals and companies evading taxes even though they have the means to pay.
He was quoted as saying the tax dodging has dropped from 30 per cent to around 20 per cent.
