KUALA LUMPUR, March 18 ― The air quality throughout the country was generally good this morning except for nine areas which had moderate Air Pollutant Index (API) readings.

According to the API readings of the Department of Environment (DoE), the nine areas were Balok Baru, and Sibu, both had a reading of 57, Kangar (55), Sandakan (53), Miri (67), Banting (92), Port Klang (56), Labuan (52) and Putrajaya (90).

An API reading of zero to 50 is categorised as good; 51 to 100, moderate; 101 to 200, unhealthy; 201 to 300, very unhealthy and 301 and above, hazardous.

The people can surf the http:apims.doe.gov.my portal run by DoE to learn of the API readings for their areas. ― Bernama
