SEPANG, March 16 — The police have classified its investigation on the missing Malaysia Airlines (MAS) flight MH370 as a hijacking after Putrajaya confirmed that the plane was diverted intentionally.

Inspector-General of Police (IGP) Tan Sri Khalid Abu Bakar also said that the investigation covers everyone aboard the Boeing 777 that was carrying 239, including two infants.

“In light of this new development, we’ve classified it under Section 130(c) of the Penal Code, which includes offences of hijacking and sabotage, acts of terrorism, and all offences under the Aviation Act,” Khalid told reporters here today.
