KUALA LUMPUR, March 15 ― Eight areas including Port Klang, Tanjung Malim and Banting recorded unhealthy Air Pollutant Index (API) readings as at 8am today.
According the Department of Environment (DOE) website, the API reading at Port Klang was 182, followed by Tanjung Malim (146), Banting (140), Shah Alam (125), Petaling Jaya (124), Putrajaya (115), Muar (103), and Batu Muda (102).
Meanwhile, 20 other areas recorded moderate API readings while 22 areas had good API readings.
Yesterday morning, Pelabuhan Klang and Banting posted API readings which were at the hazardous level.
An API reading of between 0-50 is good, moderate (51-100), unhealthy (101-200), very unhealthy (201-300) and hazardous (more than 301).
Members of the public can refer to the portal managed by the DOE to get the API reading in their respective areas. ― Bernama
