ALOR STAR, March 13 — The Kedah government has invited Muslims in the state to attend two special prayers, for rain and for the safety of the people on board a missing Malaysian airliner, at the Zahir Mosque here tomorrow.

The prayers for rain will begin at 11.30 am and the prayers for the safety of the missing Malaysia Airlines (MAS) plane and to facilitate the search for it would be held after the Friday prayers, said the press secretary to the Kedah mentri besar Mohd Fisol Jaafar.

He said Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Mukhriz Tun Dr Mahathir, state executive councillors and senior government officers would attend these prayers.

Kedah has not been spared the current drought which has hit several states in the country.
