PETALING JAYA, March 10 — The National Union of Flight Attendants Malaysia has urged the public in the spirit of togetherness to pray for the safety of all the passengers and crew members of Flight MH370.
Its president, Ismail Nasaruddin, said there had been much speculation but investigations by experts were on-going and the public should hope for the best.
He said in any incident, there were standard operating procedures for crew members to adhere to.
“All crew members are trained to exercise emergency procedures and it is their responsibility to react and respond to the state of emergency,” he said.
Ismail said with air travel, any kind of emergency could arise, and sabotage could not be immediately ruled out.
“We urge the public not to speculate. Keep calm. It is best to allow the authorities to carry out their investigation,” he said.
“We need to respect the families of all the passengers and crew members on board Flight MH370 and understand the difficult situation that everyone is going through at the moment.”
