SEPANG, March 9 — The Malaysia Airlines (MAS) plane, which disappeared en route to Beijing, did not show any signs of anomaly, Department of Civil Aviation Datuk Azharuddin Abdul Rahman said today.

When asked if the system in place would have notified authorities if there had been any abnormality, he answered, “Yes.”

“No, there was no sign of anomaly on the aircraft,” he told reporters here at the Sama Sama Hotel here.

He also clarified that the family members of passengers on board MH370 are not being flown to the “site” as reported by the media yesterday.

A man whose brother was on board yesterday told The Malay Mail Online that he was told by MAS to get his passport and have two family members on standby as they would be taken to the site.

He was told to be at the holding area by 6pm yesterday.

However, there has not been any announcement by MAS and efforts to obtain confirmation yesterday from the airline also proved futile.
