KOTA KINABALU, March 1 ― Deputy Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin today attended a special meeting with Sabah Barisan Nasional (BN) component party leaders at a leading hotel, here, tonight.

Muhyiddin, who is national BN deputy chairman, arrived at 8pm, accompanied by Chief Minister Datuk Seri Musa Aman, for dinner before the closed-door meeting.

Those present included Umno vice-president Datuk Seri Shafie Apdal, Sabah Deputy Chief Minister and Parti Bersatu Sabah (PBS) president Tan Sri Joseph Pairin Kitingan, Parti Bersatu Rakyat Sabah (PBRS) president Tan Sri Joseph Kurup and Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) president Datuk Teo Chee Kang.

This evening, Muhyiddin attended the handing-over of the Sungai Manila People's Housing Project (PPR) in Jalan Labuk, Sandakan.

The project consists of 14 blocks of five-storey buildings with 1,000 housing units, built at a cost of RM121.7 million on a 10.59ha site.      

Muhyiddin is scheduled to launch Yayasan Hijau (YaHijau) Malaysia at the Likas Sports Complex, here, tomorrow.

The setting up of YaHijau was announced during the tabling of the 2014 Budget by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak with a launching grant of RM15 million.

The foundation's role is promoting and raising public awareness of green technology and green practices so that it can be a culture among Malaysians. ― Bernama
