KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 25 — What was believed to be a dead duck placed outside the office of news portal Malaysiakini is now discovered to be alive.

In a report on its website, Malaysiakini said it previously described the duck as dead because it did not appear to be moving when the box containing the fowl was opened in the morning.

But a larger opening made around noon found that the duck was still alive although barely moving.

The box was placed outside the offices of the news portal and was affixed with a photograph of DAP MP Teresa Kok.

Malaysiakini’s office was also splashed with red paint, similar to a vandalism attack on Kok’s office last Wednesday in which a dead chicken was also left outside the entrance.

The news portal has since lodged a report over today’s incident.
