Bukit Aman head of traffic enforcement, Supt Bon Jeen Ahrom, said 911 summonses for various traffic offences were issued during the two-day operation.

“We wanted to make sure that vehicles travelling along this road were driving safely,” he said.

“This is necessary following the Aug 21 bus crash which killed 37 of the 53 passengers.”

The operation was conducted from 8am to 5pm by 156 officers at four locations — namely the Gombak-Genting, Batangkali-Genting and Genting Sempah exits and the Genting Highlands bus station exit.

Bon Jeen said two Nigerians were also arrested for travelling without proper documents.
